“You don’t have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great. Zig Ziglar
My dear mgbeke, show me a human that can do it all and I will tell you a thousand things that he will most probably fail at. The major reason why most of us never accomplish the goals we set is because we tend to expect too much from ourselves and spend all the time trying to be great at everything instead of focusing on what our strengths are and how to use them to further our cause..
Let’s take an example;
A boy who wants to be the best footballer of his time can decide to do two things
- Choose a wing he is good at and start developing on it
- Develop himself to be able to play on all wings even as a goalkeeper..
Which of the two decisions do you think would give the boy a chance to be the world best footballer of the year?
If you picked the first, then you are right. You need to start thinking of a Niche or thing you are good at and comfortable with and start looking for opportunities and resource materials that can make you great on that Niche..
Once you have chosen your Niche, rather than thinking that it would take a lot of time so you shouldn’t do it, you should say to yourself that even if it will take so much time, you can do it, and you will do it! This is the toughest part where a lot of people take a step back and don’t even start. But those who dare to start, end up being great. Great things don’t come to you by your bed on their own. You need to wake up and chase them. If you dare to start, you’ll definitely finish!
Don’t even try to know it all before you start, don’t even try to be great at everything before you take that step. You need to be on the move as fast as possible if you want to stand a chance to succeed and clinch your goals.
If you’re feeling up to it, we would love to hear from you before you go…
Which point mentioned above resonates with you the most today, and why?
