Under the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, as amended, the President does not possess the authority to unilaterally direct the discontinuation of an ongoing criminal prosecution. Such power is constitutionally vested in the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice. Therefore, any statement by the President suggesting otherwise is legally untenable and, in this context, appears to have been made in bad faith.
If at all it is true that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is behind the tolerance of Natasha Akpoti’s lies, lawlessness, excesses of unruly behavior, careless utterances, and criminal defamation, she has once again, in her usual silly manner, vomited it. As long as my cases are part of her criminal trials and ongoing investigations, MY CASE WILL NEVER BE POLITICIZED!
Akpabio’s and others’ cases may be FULLY politicized, but Prof. Sandra C. Duru’s cases will never be politicized, except if they intend to grant everyone the reckless freedom to accuse anyone in power or out of power based on or without any shred of evidence|proof.
Our PBAT, however, will never make that mistake.
Meanwhile, my PODCAST IS READY TO SWING OUT TO ANY DIRECTION!
