Wedding bells are soon to be ringing for Porsha Williams!
The former Real Housewives of Atlanta star and her fiancé, businessman Simon Guobadia has set a date for the wedding, with a bit of push from Williams’ family, of course. “I did not [have a date], and everything kind of blew up online. My grandmother, of all people, got word. She was like, ‘That man wants to marry you, what are you going to do?’ She, my mom, and my Aunt Darlene sat me down like an intervention, and they literally gave me a date. So we now have a date, summoned by my family,” Williams told Extra at the People’s Choice Awards.
While the couple is refraining from sharing the wedding date publicly, Williams’ new Bravo show “Porsha’s Family Matters” is giving fans a glimpse of her relationship, as well as her family dynamic. “We have a good time on the show, but it’s all my family. Just imagine the most hectic Thanksgiving ever that never ends.” Porsha continued, “There’s no one’s opinion I care about more than my family. Good, better, indifferent, I like the fact that they’re keeping it real. We are trying to get to a great place. We are all blending right now. Sometimes it’s not easy,” Williams told Extra.
Drama and a flurry of rumors have surrounded the couple’s new romance since Guobadia announced his and William’s engagement on Instagram in May, while he was still legally married to his now ex-wife Falyn Pina. Pina appeared with Williams on the 13th season of Real Housewives of Atlanta, but Williams made it clear the two are no longer friends on her Instagram. “Falynn and I are not friends, and Simon’s divorce has been settled,” she continued. “Our relationship is a positive, loving step forward in everybody’s lives.” Also, in the caption, she mentioned that Guobadia had filed for divorce from Pina in January, praising her new beau and her daughter’s father, Dennis McKinley, for stepping up to co-parent.
It appears that Williams and Guobadia are putting the drama behind them and looking forward to their future together with their family’s support along the way.
