One of the major sources of the joy of Olu Adewunmi is Glory, his beloved new wife, and eternal soul mate. For a man with the world at his feet, literally, earthly things shouldn’t necessarily excite him. She is celestial, almost surreal even – the one who can wish away the crippling stress of running a conglomerate with just the soothing poetry of her voice. And he treats her as such.
Yes, many years after his divorce, successful lawyer and businessman, Olu Adewunmi, has found bliss in the company and comfort of a new woman, Glory Nina. Sources close to Adewunmi said the new bride is the kind of woman he would like to grow grey and spend the rest of his life with and as such, they got married last Saturday in Ikoyi.
No doubt, Glory is gifted in love. Like the fabled enchanteur from the renaissance era, she has got Adewunmi forever pacing Hadrian’s wall of her shoulder and dreaming of her maiden castle. In the same breath, she has got him perpetually hooked on her cocktail of love. Thus Olu became a string to be played by the nimble fingers of Glory, his beloved wife.
Curiously, however, Adewunmi was married to Adeola founder of The Bookworm, a foremost bookstore in Nigeria. Adewunmi, on his part, was a lawyer who later delved into business and made really good. The couple enjoyed a marital journey that was the envy of associates and acquaintances. However, allegations of infidelity reportedly drew a wedge between them.
Neither party spoke out on the exact cause of their separation and eventual divorce; they just went their separate ways. In 2018, the only product of their marriage, their son, died. It was the most traumatic period for the quintessential man-about-town. He became withdrawn. Indeed, time was, when friends felt like paper chains in the rain and the sky held nothing but the promise of more storms for him.
Don’t forget, he was serially accused of being the cause of the collapse of the marriage between Karen and Patrick Koshoni Jnr.
He also enjoyed a life unencumbered by love and commitment. His friends and business associates are happy that with the coming of Glory, no longer would his heart be the only one beating in his house; and no longer would he spend lonely cold nights; the sneers and sniggers from friends and friends who thought he would remain single for life in spite of all his wealth and successes. Now, he is ready to tell it on the mountains that he has found love again and this time, it is for keeps, forever.
