TGIF TIPS. June 17, 2022: 3 Vital Driving Tips To Help You Through The Wet Weekend
The rains are here fully, and they seem to be pouring down in torrents! There is no way that you can plan a Friday hangout smoothly without including a car in the mix.
Getting from one point to the other in the evening and later on at night can be such a massive pain without a personal vehicle. Still, it is also equally essential to be conscious of the weather and whatever season you’re in presently, too.
These are vital factors that can determine what and how you would prepare for any outing – whether it be during the day or a hangout planned after work to ease off the work week’s stress.
So, in our usual fashion, we’ve put together 3 vital driving tips to help you through this wet Friday and weekend ahead.
(1) Don’t Take The Wheels If You’re Exhausted Or Tipsy.
Yes, we know it is your car, but that doesn’t mean you must be the one to drive it around all the time, especially when you are obviously exhausted from work.
It is even much worse whenever you are intoxicated – whether slightly or heavily. It doesn’t matter how much alcohol you sipped at work or the bar afterward. What matters is that you did take alcohol, and getting behind the wheel when you’re intoxicated and exhausted after a long work week is a sure disaster waiting to happen!
It is one you can easily avoid by having someone else drive tonight if you know you’re not up to it physically, though. So, please do; your family needs you back home in one piece, remember?
(2) Make Sure To Avoid Any Form Of Distractions
Unless you need to make an emergency call for health assistance or the police, don’t allow yourself to be distracted by your mobile phone, your friends and colleagues, or any other thing if you’re on the wheels tonight.
Of course, it’s been a long week, and you’re only thinking about all the fun you can get to have right now, but you must never forget that you have to keep yourself and everyone else with you safe.
So, if you must be the one to drive the fun crew out and around tonight, please keep the cell phones and every other distraction at bay.
The likelihood of having an accident on a cold and wet road at night is very high on its own, so do not increase the odds against your survival by getting distracted while driving tonight, please.
(3) Plan And Consult Your Google Maps
There is one thing about driving when you’re in a hurry – you are a lot more prone to errors and accidents than when you’re calmly cruising and not feeling pressed for time or anything else.
Plan your trip well tonight, and make sure that you leave ahead of time so that you don’t start fretting when you meet some delays along the way there.
Also, consult with your Google Maps to know the areas and routes to your preferred destinations with less amount of congestion. This would also help you save time on your trips around tonight and take the edge off you when driving.
On a final note, do not forget the most important thing that you must always do before you and your colleagues or crew step out tonight: commit your ways and plans to God and ask HIM to keep you safe.
HE is the ultimate safety tip anyone can ever give you, and it is only HIM that cannot ever fail!
Stay safe out there, and do have a lovely Friday evening and weekend ahead.
