HOLYOKE — Former Chicopee Police Department spokesman Mike Wilk pleaded not guilty to a domestic assault charge Thursday in Holyoke District Court.
The misdemeanor assault charge was issued even though the alleged victim — a former girlfriend of Wilk — did not tell the police she had been physically assaulted, according to court records. She told police she had been “harassed and mentally abused” and that Wilk became angry when she didn’t invite him on a trip to Disney World earlier this year.
Wilk, of Holyoke, and his attorney, Thomas Kenefick III, declined comment following the proceeding this morning.
Wilk retired from the Police Department in 2020 but was recalled the following year as a special police officer due to understaffing.
