Lessons As Groom Accused Of Domestic Violence Refutes Allegations, And Claims Fiancée Aborted 3 Times Without His Permission!
A Nigerian man identified as David Okike, reportedly accused of domestic violence by his fiancée, has stated to clarify the situation and reveal why their previously scheduled wedding for Saturday, April 16, 2022, was called off.
You may recall that his fiancée Sandra Obi, popularly known as Ada Uburu on Facebook, had reportedly called off the wedding, citing alleged domestic violence from David. However, in a statement released via his Facebook page, David debunked her claims and also revealed that she had carried out three abortions without his consent while they were courting.
David insists that he had never raised his hands on her before and revealed that Sandra is currently carrying another pregnancy, even though she had stated several times that she doesn’t want to have a child out of wedlock.
In his statement, David said: “Contrary to the statement my wife posted on her Facebook (page), this is my story.
Let me first clarify that we have dated for over 8 years. Within these years, I have never on any occasion, irrespective of the level of provocation, raised my hand to her, and this is because I respect and adore her.
This is difficult for me to bring to the public domain, but I am aware that he who asserts must prove and that silence sometimes means acceptance, and as such, I am handicapped safe from letting the public into this issue. I am now certain that she isn’t the woman meant for me.
Even after terminating three of my pregnancies without my consent. Why would a rational thinking woman keep quiet while I spent heavily on wedding arrangements when she was convinced she didn’t want the marriage to hold?
She had always maintained that she never wanted a child before wedlock, which I accepted and respected her decision because of the love I have for her. After paying her bride price in 2020, she took in and terminated the pregnancy… That was the third pregnancy she terminated.
I thank God that she is taking this direction, and I accept and respect her decision. But telling lies to play a victim is way beyond normal and unacceptable.
Regardless of what happened, she is having my child, and the Uburu tradition and culture don’t allow that I receive the dowry I paid as she is pregnant for me at present. When she delivers my child, I will surely receive my dowry.”
Their love story gone sour has a lot of lessons for other young people to learn, and we would like to point out a few of them below.
(1) Stop Having Premarital Sex!: We’re pretty sure that you’ve all heard the saying: “Abstinence is the best protection,” right? Well, this couple’s story is the perfect illustration of why abstinence is way better than any other prescription!
There would never have been an abortion, talk more than three, if they had just kept their privates private and kept their pants on till they got married.
Is it easy to abstain from sex, especially when you’ve been very active in it before? No, it is not. But is it possible to do so, and is it worth it? Absolutely! And if you are already sexually active and feel you cannot abstain, use protection. Though I recommend ABSTINENCE.
(2) Stop Leading People On In Relationships: It is evil to keep leading another person on and make marriage promises to them when you know deep down in your heart that you don’t intend to go through with your commitment to them.
Besides the emotional and psychological damage you can do to such a person you mislead like that, you also potentially wreck their ability to trust any other person for the rest of their lives.
This is very unfair and a great evil that should never be done to anyone. If you know, you cannot see your current partner in your future life and vision, be kind enough to open up to them and part well now, honestly!
(3) Stop Courting Or Dating For Long Periods!: You are only inviting sin and all manner of nasty things to fully envelope your lives when you live like this.
Why would you “date” someone for 8 years?! What else would you expect to happen in such a courtship or relationship, if not a series of either abortions or children out of wedlock, especially when you’re not celibate?
Many of the problems we have in life as adults are caused by our hands, and the pains we suffer are mostly self-inflicted. May God be merciful to us all…Amen!
