“Insecurity Is Their Remote Control, And It Works Perfectly. It’s Their Stock-In-Trade. It Pays More Than Crude Oil. Accept It Or Leave It, The Country Is Doomed.” – Dr. Obinna Oke

Dr. Obinna Oke, a Nigerian medical doctor and the author of Desert Breed took to his facebook page to lament on the present situation of Nigeria. Read his words:

It bothers me that Nigerians are hoping that things will return to normalcy after 2023. How easily the Nigerian people subscribe to every flicker of hope, false or authentic, deserves an Oscar. But it’s at the same time a clear sign of helplessness. It makes me wonder upon what such hope is anchored.

Buhari no doubts might have aided and abetted a neuplastic process upon the country but once a disease has turned malignant, removal of the etiology or risk factors doesn’t provide a cure. Buhari will leave office before or in 2023 but terrorism will not leave with him unfortunately. This is because there is already a metastasis of terrorism, banditry, herdsmenism, abduction and whatever such calamities are christened.

Under Buhari, terrorism has not only flourished but has been strategically spread and strongly rooted in nearly all regions of Nigeria to perpetually hold the country knee-bent and head-bowed to the biddings, whims and caprices of the underdogs who reap from the dividends of insecurity.

For those who do not know, insecurity is the most functional remote control that they use to get power back to their region. The solution to Nigeria’s problems does not lie in the seat of the president anymore. Anyone or group with such claims are merely struggling for a chance to loot their share of our remains. The solution lies in restructuring or disintegration.

The current system is built to rob Peter to pay Paul. It can never guarantee progress of any kind.

Even if the service chiefs retire with Buhari, will all the northern/Islamic-skewed senior officers, Police and military commanders including the foot soldiers/police retire with him too?

So save your hope, dear Nigerians. With same structure, the days after 2023 won’t be any better. It’s therefore expedient to know the root of the problems so we don’t have false hope. This is not a prophesy or rocket sciences. Look. Listen. Think. And you will see the signs vividly. It’s a grand plan sustained by those in the upper echelons of political and religious power in the region.

Insecurity is their remote control, and it works perfectly. It’s their stock-in-trade. It pays more than crude oil. Accept it or leave it, the country is doomed.
