4 Terribly Risks You Take Whenever You Leave Your Drink Unguarded!

My dearest Mgbekenized people, thank God it’s another Friday, and we’re all alive and well to witness the day and rejoice in it.

I also hope that this work week has been very productive and good for you. We are all set for another long weekend this week, and, being salary week too, we know that there is almost nothing stopping anyone from letting loose this weekend and partying till the sun comes up tomorrow morning!

In keeping with our traditions here at Mgbeke Media, we would like to call your attention to a few important things we think you should never forget as you go out to have a few drinks and relax with your friends and colleagues tonight.

We would like to dwell on why you must ensure that your drinks stay safe at all times, as we highlight a few hazards you may run into if you do not pay close attention to this.

(1) It Could Get Laced With Poison: Let’s start from the seemingly extreme before going down the list. Yes, you can get poisoned at a handout with friends if you do not guard your liquor well!

Especially in African climes, jealousy and envy can and have been known to make people do insane things. One of them is to fatally lace the drinks of anyone they consider as competition with poison whenever they get an opportunity to do so.

Do not be naive or think that everyone smiling and laughing at you only have your good intentions at heart! It is better to be safe than sorry, remember?

(2) It Could Become Contaminated: There are always numerous insects and even flies hovering around bars and anywhere there is alcohol. They also like to have a good time too, you know?

Keep yourself protected from avoidable infections and contamination by paying close attention to your drinks, and never leave your cup uncovered.

(3) It Could Become A Date Rape Trap: Besides getting fatally poisoned by an evil friend or colleague, there is also the risk of getting raped by a pervert who has been watching for an opportunity to creep up on you.

There are drugs that, once slipped into your drink and ingested, your memories and recollections of every other thing that happened that night will be incoherent and a big blur.

If you are out with new friends, strangers, or even the ones you’ve known for a good while, make sure you never leave your drink open and unguarded, especially as a female.

Men shouldn’t discountenance this advice too, though, as quite a couple of men too have been raped using this sick method.

(4) It Could Get Replaced With Something Stronger Than You Can Handle: Don’t even think this is impossible because several drinks and cocktails look precisely the same in a cup filled with ice.

One of your already tipsy companions could innocently put his cup beside yours on the table and then pick up the wrong one as he|she comes back to the table.

You must remain vigilant and watch over your liquor as a mother hen watches over her chicks because someone might drop an identical drink laced with something too strong beside yours. Such a swap could lead to things better imagined than experienced, please.

After all is said and done, don’t ever forget that all your measures, plans, and safety consciousness will amount to nothing if God does not watch over you as you go!
