Vital Points As Anambra Man Murders Female Neighbor By Punching Her Over Sanitation Exercise
An Anambra man identified as Ebube Oba, 30, has landed in big trouble with the law after he allegedly murdered his neighbor, Uzoamaka Ekpe, 45, over an argument about the environmental sanitation in their yard.
This recent tragedy happened at Ugochukwu Lane, Nkpor Agu, Ogidi, in the Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State, Nigeria, and the deceased woman is a mother of two.
According to reports, a quarrel started when the suspect confronted the deceased and her children for refusing to participate in the sanitation exercise the whole compound was doing that fateful morning.
The quarrel degenerated into a fight, and Ebube allegedly punched the woman in her face and chest, which made her collapse. She was reportedly rushed to the hospital immediately, where she was confirmed dead.
Chief Emeka Mbagha, the President-General of the community, who spoke to newsmen, said: “The landlord of the house called all the tenants to come out for the clean-up exercise, but the woman in question and her children did not come out, only for them to get dressed and were about to go out when the landlord locked the gate.
The suspect, one of the landlord’s children, started having an altercation with the woman’s children, and before we knew it, their mother came to the scene and started shouting, and in the process, she collapsed.
Now that the matter is with the police, it is only normal we allow them to do their work without any disturbance.”
According to the Anambra State Commissioner of Police, Echeng Echeng, whose statement was relayed by the State Command’s spokesperson, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, investigations are ongoing, and Ebube will be prosecuted once they are concluded.
“Preliminary information revealed that the late Mrs. Ekpe had a quarrel with the suspect, Ebube, which resulted in fisticuffs.
Ebube hit the victim in the chest and face with a fist blow before she collapsed. She was rushed to the hospital and was later confirmed dead by a medical doctor on duty. The body has been deposited in the morgue. The suspect is in custody, and the case will be charged to court after investigations,” CP Echeng said.
This sad incident teaches us a few lessons, and, sadly, they are not things we haven’t spoken about here on numerous occasions before.
(1) Don’t ever raise your hand on a woman. It is not only barbaric, but it is also senseless, reckless, and a very shameful thing for any man to be found in!
(2) Never react or even speak when you’re angry. It will never end well 9.999 times out of 10 times when you do!
A man who cannot control his temper and outbursts is like a city without walls; anything can access and destroy him.
Unfortunately, this young man is now looking at the possibility of a long stretch in prison if found guilty, and it’s quite sad because this could have been avoided if only he had controlled his temper.
